There are so many different types of mattresses on the market, knowing which one is best for you can be difficult to understand.
So what are the types of mattresses that are out there and what are the differences.

The most common types of mattresses available are:

  • Traditional Innerspring Mattresses

  • Sleep Number®

Traditional Innerspring Mattresses

Innerspring mattresses are the most common type of mattresses. They consist of a spring zone and a comfort layer. The innerspring is the source of support and provides proper spinal alignment while you sleep. Innerspring Mattress do not retain body heat so it is less likely to have users to complain about excessive heat. Surveys have shown that Innerspring Mattresses (without layered foam) are considered better for Sex. It is also noted that some say the innerspring mattresses have the most problem with premature sagging.

Tempur®-Pedic Mattresses

Tempur®-Pedic is by most considered the state of the art when it comes to these style mattresses. It is not the same as generic memory foam. It’s considered more comfortable, supportive and durable. The material used is proprietary and is only available in TEMPUR®-Pedic Mattresses and Pillows. The support conforms to your body shape and evenly distributes your weight over the surface of the mattress for ultimate support and customized comfort.

Sleep Number ®

Sleep Number ® utilizes Air Chambers and allows you to make the mattress firmer or less firm. These chambers are composed of heat-bonded rubber which provides the support that is needed in order to have a relaxed and stress-free sleep. The Sleep Number® is great for couples as it allows for each person to individually setup the mattress firmness that they want without affecting the person.
